Rosie Trust gala to celebrate Betty Reid Soskin’s 100th birthday

Posted July 28, 2021 from The Richmond Standard

Rosie the Riveter Trust, the nonprofit partner of Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond, has announced its annual dinner gala will take place Sunday, Sept. 26 from 4-8 p.m. and that the event will also celebrate park ranger and national icon Betty Reid Soskin’s 100th birthday.

The dinner gala, called “Making History Together with a Tribute to Betty Reid Soskin,” and presented by the Boilermakers, will take place at the Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South in Richmond. According to the Trust’s website, it will be a hybrid event—held both in-person and online—so supporters have a choice.

“Funds raised provide critical support for our youth, historic preservation and women in the trades programs,” stated the Trust. “Thank you for keeping the ‘We Can Do It’ spirit alive today.”

Tickets go on sale August 1; early bird individual tickets are $200 through September 10; after that, ticket prices raise to $250. To explore sponsorship opportunities for the event, click here. Stay updated as plans for the dinner gala develop on the Trust’s website.
